What is the best golf driver for seniors out on the Market today?
I would not get caught up too much when selecting a driver for the senior golfer. In my opinion its not a case of you need a special driver for when you get older because you dont however small tweaks will help. Read on.
For many years I have played along senior golfers some of whom could out drive a lot of people. Some of these guys used very stiff shafts and were well able to carry the water hazard at 200 yards or the fairway bunker at 220 and even driving the odd Par 4 :). All I am saying is just don’t underestimate yourself just because your a senior golfer and don’t get suckered in to the next big expensive driver that is Taylor made for the senior golfer because its not and they just tell you it is.
What you want is the best driver at a cheap cost
I can offer you some advice on what will certainly help your drives without limiting your choice of driver. I would recommend you buy a driver with increased loft as this will aid significantly and also as big a head as possible. Cobra, Ping, Taylor made, these are all excellent good quality brands. For the senior golfer you should be going no lower than 10.5 degree loft and depending on your swing speed a medium or stiff shaft would be fine.
Money saving tips
Another tip on how you can improve your drive would be to use a shorter shaft or cut your existing shaft and re grip it. This will leave the club feeling lighter and more easier to control and its cheaper to have your driver re gripped rather than paying for a new one :). Unless your putting on some golden grips or something 🙂
